actually had an interesting journal earlier, and it made me think... what really is a good artist? Someone who goes on to do what they know they can, and completely excell at it, or someone who a little bit good at everythign, with the chance of being able to somewhat draw pretty much anything? It all depends on what your trying to do - If you solely make your money though cons and whatnot, then continue doing what you're good at, since people will continue to buy that art, since they know they will like it. On the other hand, you'll shy away from alot of other people that might completely hate what you draw...
I can't say much, I stick to drawing furries and the like, but in my spare time I do try drawing [humans] things I feel I'm not good at, but, at least I still try. I can't say I'm all that good at what I do even, but again, I have fun with what I do, and it passes time and relieves stress.
In all, I think someone should at least try, no matter how sucky it might turn out to be.

It's art - There's always room for imprevement, no matter who you are.
